I ordered the oxtail dinner and festival. Everything was amazing. The oxtail dinner was huge! I wasn't expecting that but loved it regardless. Now the festival was ON POINT! I was ready to go back and order some more. Update: I ordered from here again festival but it looks like they have changed the recipe. It's not the same as the first time I got it. I'm not a fan of the new recipe.
Friendly customer service and great portions for the prices listed! Found this restaurant on google, took a chance and I was glad I did! Definitely ordering from here again.
My neighbour's had high reviews of this new place, so I decided to try it, & YESSSS, I got curry goat with rice & peas with Fish tea soup. The soup ACTUALLY had fish in it! Usually when restaurants say fish tea soup, it is only watered down soup with fish bones that cut up your mouth and I end up throwing the friggen thing away. But not here. I got fish in my soup, AND, it tasted great, hubby got Curry goat and it was also delicious. So you can't go wrong here. Place has a great vibe, staff and chef were super nice too. Definitely recommend this place.
Oxtail, plantain, rice and peas? YES, PLEASE! This is beyond supporting bold businesses during the pandemic, the food quality was totally excellent, and I’ll come back to try their other dishes. I’m Caribbean, East Asian, and used to be 295lbs (on purpose, because “food is good” - enough said), so I’m qualified with my recommendation, and, frankly, my taste buds were honored with the quality of their food. I have my staples for Caribbean food, just like you, but check them out if you are in their area. And if you are not? Check them out for the oxtail, plantain, rice and peas meal!
I want to love this place as much as the owner/chef loves her establishment however I will note the following and give an honest review. The first time i called was around 9 and was told that they are closed, but their google page showed that they were opened till 9:30 and that they need to update their hours of operation. The first time i came here the oxtail dinner was decent. The portion size was pretty decent and the flavour was great. The coleslaw was kinda small compared to the size of the meal but to each their own. I paid $20 for this and was given a small hot sauce which was really tasty. I came back yesterday, ordered a jerk chicken dinner for pick up. I got there and nothing had been done. Which I wasnt in a rush but still i had called 15 mins ahead if time which shouldve been enough time to prepare everything. I walk in and waited. I noticed that the chicken was sitting inside a metal food tray. Looked sooo dry. They took the chicken, put it on a plate and walked to the back. I hear a bunch of microwaves going off and doors slamming. They bring out the dinner and i walked to my house to eat it. Boy lemme tell you. This chicken was quite dry. The flavour was there but it was dry, if the dryness wasnt enough the coleslaw they used was obviously about to go off as there was a sour flavour in there. I think if you want good tasting food come here as its not disgusting but honestly doesnt slap the same as mainshaws, raps, even ritz at the price point that they have their food selling for. The lady is super nice and tries to make conversation but let the food speak for itself.
